Rosso Piceno "Roggio del Filare" is a red wine made from Montepulciano and Sangiovese grapes, characterized by good structure and a warm, full and intense aromatic profile, partly due to long aging in barriques. The nose expresses notes of blackberry, cherry and herbs. The taste is intense and fruity, with aromatic returns of fruit in spirit and leather.
"Roggio del Filare" is a Rosso Piceno Superiore that from the first moments makes us share in its charm. The tasting on the nose and palate brings out elegant, warm flavors and aromas, certifying a quality that sees the Velenosi winery awarded with very important scores and recognitions at a national level. An award-winning label, then, where the full sip caresses the palate with gratitude and intensity, reminding us how the Marche region is able to give birth to excellent red wines.
Rosso Piceno Superiore "Roggio del Filare" comes from grapes of a variety that is particularly at home in the Marche terroir, Montepulciano, with a small balance of Sangiovese. Vines of this variety are grown by Velenosi in those vineyards located near Offida and Ascoli Piceno, about 200 meters above sea level. We are located in a terroir characterized by a subsoil that is purely clayey and tends to be calcareous. Manual harvesting takes place in mid-October, and the must ferments at a controlled temperature, in steel containers with a capacity of 100 HL, macerating for 28 days. This is followed by aging, which takes place for 18 months in barriques.
Rosso Piceno "Roggio del Filare" presents itself to the eye with an intense ruby color, crossed by more garnet flashes visible especially in the rim. The nose is orchestrated on an initial fruity olfactory wave, which slowly gives way to hints of herbs and touches of lavender. The palate is full-bodied, with a warm sip from which a fruity taste emerges, very pleasant and balanced. A label signed Velenosi that, vintage after vintage, always confirms itself at sublime levels, suffice it to say that for more than 10 consecutive years the Gambero Rosso magazine has awarded it the prestigious Tre Bicchieri recognition, and that absolutely must be tasted at least once in a lifetime!
