ROSÉ 'LIMITED EDITION D&G' DONNAFUGATA 2024 (PACKAGING) DESCRIPTION

Donnafugata's "Limited Edition D&G" rosé is a label that brings together two of Italy's finest wines: Donnafugata, one of Sicily's most famous wineries, and Dolce&Gabbana, one of the most famous Made in Italy fashion brands. This is a fresh, fragrant rosé, characterised by delicate, elegant aromas, which highlights the best varietal characteristics of two highly prized indigenous red grape varieties: Nerello Mascalese, from the Etna region, and Nocera, an ancient grape grown mainly in the historic Mamertino area.

The limited edition D&G is a rosato produced by one of the most important wineries in Trinacria. Donnafugata has made a decisive contribution to the renaissance of Sicilian wine and, with this new label, confirms its commitment to promoting the excellence of the region, thanks to a prestigious collaboration with Dolce&Gabbana. The Nerello Mascalese grapes come from the Etna estate, located on the northern slope of the volcano, which has always been ideal for growing red grapes. The Nocera comes from the Contessa Entellina estate, located in the beautiful western part of Sicily. The grapes are harvested by hand, selecting the best bunches in the vineyard. After cold maceration, the grapes are pressed very gently and the must is then made into white wine, with fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. Before bottling, the wine matures for several months in steel vats.

Donnafugata's Rosé "Limited Edition D&G" is a wine that confirms the continuing growth of Sicilian rosés. It is particularly suited to langoustine, prawn and salmon starters, pasta dishes or seafood guazzetti with tomato sauce. Try it with a margherita pizza. In the glass, it has a lovely, soft, luminous and brilliant pink colour. The olfactory profile is fine and refined, with delicate scents of jasmine flowers, orange blossom, rose petals, citrus aromas of bergamot zest, pink grapefruit, pomegranate, raspberry, redcurrant and hints of aromatic herbs from the Mediterranean maquis. On the palate, it is elegant, with delicate, harmonious fruitiness, interspersed with pleasant salty sensations and a finish of clear mineral freshness.
