COSTA D'AMALFI ROSATO MARISA CUOMO 2023 DESCRIPTION

Marisa Cuomo's Costa d'Amalfi Rosato is a child of the generous and sunny Campanian soil. It comes from a blend in equal parts of the region's two great red grape varieties: Piedirosso and Aglianico. Two perfectly complementary grapes, the former fruity and harmonious, the latter structured and deep. Their union gives a rosé of great balance, expressing pleasant fruity notes combined with good body. Far from the light, transparent and diaphanous rosés inspired by the Provencal style, it proudly claims its territorial nature, its fidelity to the character of the production area of the local native varieties.

Rosato Costa d'Amalfi is produced by one of Campania's most famous wineries. Marisa Cuomo's wines have been among the elite of Italy's best labels for years. The Piedirosso and Aglianico grapes come from plots located in the beautiful landscape scenery of the Amalfi Coast, particularly in the areas of Cetara, and in the Raito locality in Vietri sul Mare. The vineyards are cultivated on steep terraces supported by dry stone walls, at an altitude between 100 and 250 meters above sea level with sunny south-facing exposure. The warm, breezy Mediterranean climate and stony soils rich in limestone rocks have always provided an ideal habitat for vines. Harvesting is done manually in the second half of October, and the grapes are gently pressed with brief skin contact. The free-run juice is vinified in white with fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Before bottling, it matures a few months in steel so as to preserve fragrant aromas and flavors.

Marisa Cuomo's Costa d'Amalfi Rosato wine is a label that faithfully reflects the face of Campania's red grape varieties and their strong personality. It is a rich rosé with a good body, particularly suitable to accompany pasta dishes with tomato sauce or guazzetti and fish soups. In the glass it has a beautiful light salmon-pink color with luminous reflections. The olfactory profile is intense and elegant, with aromas of ripe cherry, red currant, raspberry, wild strawberry, morello cherry, pomegranate, fragrant citrus nuances and wild herbs of the Mediterranean maquis. The palate has good structure, with rich fruit and a subtle tannic trail. The finish is fresh and with good flavor persistence.
