ROSÉ 'MEA ROSA' LUNAE BOSONI 2024 DESCRIPTION

Mea Rosa' is a rosé made from Vermentino Nero grapes, with a fresh and fragrant profile that reveals an intriguing and seductive personality when sipped, thanks to its delicate aromaticity and spicy nuances. It is the fruit of the Cantina Lunae Bosoni's commitment to the valorisation of the territory's indigenous grapes, in particular an almost forgotten grape variety such as Vermentino Nero, which vinified in rosé offers a pleasantly surprising wine. In this small territory, in the furthest corner of Liguria, viticulture has its roots in the distant past. Luni was in antiquity an important port of call, first Etruscan, then Greek and finally Roman, and traces of this historical The presence of vines is also evidenced by the presence of many indigenous varieties typical of the area.

The 'Rosato Mea Rosa' is made from the grapes of the Vermentino Nero vines cultivated at Ortonovo on stony , pebble-rich soils. The vines are planted to guyot, with a density of 3500 vines per hectare, and are agronomically managed to give fairly low yields. The Vermentino Nero is harvested around mid-September, by hand in small boxes. After cold maceration on the skins for about 4 hours, fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in steel tanks. Subsequent ageing also takes place in steel tanks until May, when the wine is bottled.

The 'Mea Rosa' wine differs from many other rosé wines in that it is produced from a rare grape that has almost disappeared, were it not for the efforts of a few producers in the area who keep its tradition alive, as a typical expression of the Colli di Luni. The colour is a rather intense pomegranate pink. The nose expresses elegant perfumes with aromas of wild strawberries, cherries, small red berries, on a floral background and delicate spicy notes. The palate is lively and aromatically rich, with crisp, ripe fruit, nice freshness and a pleasant finish on savoury sensations.
