Rosso 'A Vita 2022

Rosso by 'A Vita cellar is a wine which is born from vines caressed by the Mediterranean breeze. The nose is delicate, from the memories that refer to peony, cherries, citrus and spicy hints. On the palate it is juicy, with tannins decided and rampant, with fresh notes, intense with fruity returns

ROSSO 'A VITA 2022 DESCRIPTION

The Rosso di 'A Vita is a red wine that combines the solarity of Calabria with the extreme elegance of Gaglioppo. Francesco and Laura, respectively from Calabria and Friuli, have decided to dedicate their lives to viticulture and, more precisely, to take over 8 hectares in the Cirò area, giving space to local indigenous grape varieties such as Gaglioppo, Magliocco and Greco. It is the vineyard and place of origin that must speak, so the approach in the vineyard involves only the use of a little copper and sulphur, while in the cellar, spontaneous fermentation takes place. Liquids with character, but at the same time endowed with an unsuspected finesse that could confuse many tasters in a blind tasting. Definitely worth trying!

The red wine comes from pure Gaglioppo grapes from the hillside vineyards of 'A Vita. Harvesting is done manually in September, with careful selection of the bunches, which are taken to the cellar for the start of spontaneous fermentation in steel containers. Maceration lasts 5 days, while ageing lasts 18 months in the same containers used for fermentation. No clarification or filtration before bottling.

The Ross 'A Vita appears in the glass with a ruby colour that veers towards garnet. The nose combines the warmth of its place of origin with a refreshing balsamic vein, so that the notes of plum and carob that open the olfactory picture are contrasted by hints of liquorice and juniper. A red wine from the South that "nebbioleggiates", in the mouth it is noted for its full matter, but marked by smooth tannin and a freshness that constantly relaunches the drink. A wine that portrays its land, rendering it without filters. So beautiful because it is spontaneous.
