RUCHÉ DI CASTAGNOLE MONFERRATO 'LACCENTO' MAGNUM MONTALBERA 2023 DESCRIPTION

The Ruché Laccento di Montalbera is a red wine that is simply impossible not to fall in love with. Its delicate color, intriguing aromas, and smoothness on the palate are its distinctive and unique characteristics. The Ruché of Castagnole Monferrato is an indigenous Piedmontese grape variety that Montalbera transforms into a great wine—pleasant and fun to drink. We are in Castagnole Monferrato, where in 2010, Ruché was awarded the DOCG status as further recognition of the quality of this grape variety, capable of producing a wine with perfect body, balanced aromas, and unique flavors and scents.

Once considered the wine of festivities, it now carries a legendary aura, often associated with the nectar that accompanied the Asti militias during the Crusades, contributing to the Lombards' victory over the Franks in the battles of Refrancore. Its crisp aromas stem from the fact that 95% of the production comes from overripe grapes, while the remaining 5% is harvested from grapes picked earlier than their optimal ripening stage. After the harvest, Montalbera’s Ruché rests for at least six months in the bottle at a temperature never exceeding 10 degrees Celsius—a condition that ensures and preserves the high residual sugar content of this wine.

Montalbera’s Ruché is an important, seductive, and long-lived wine, with remarkable elegance and an intensely smooth character. Floral notes, especially rose petals and geranium, along with fruity aromas, lend it a unique charm and deeply intense emotions for those who drink it. A Ruché that, as Don Cauda once said, “when enjoyed in moderation, frees the spirit and opens the mind...”

Scent

Intriguing floral scents, with notes of rose petals and berries

When to open
To enjoy it at its best, we recommend you to let the wine 'breathe' at least 15-30 minutes before serving
When to drink
Wine good to drink now, but that can have a beautiful evolution after resting for a while in your cellar
Glass
Medium open goblet
Perfect for young and medium bodied red wines which don't require excessive oxygenation to open. The opening, slightly tighter than the body of the glass, favors the concentration of aromas towards the nose, enhancing the perception of aromas and limiting the dispersion
Longevity
You can let it rest in the cellar quietly for 2-3 years
