Carribean Fusion 13 Anni Moon Import Rum expresses all the warm, tropical character of the Caribbean, transporting the senses on an exotic voyage of discovery to distant beaches and jungles. In general, rum is derived from the fermentation and subsequent distillation of the juice or molasses of sugar cane, a tropical plant that grows luxuriantly in the hot and humid environment of the Caribbean. However, this plant is actually native to New Guinea and was first brought to Europe by the Arabs and then, after the discovery of the Americas, to the West Indies by European settlers.
Moon Import Rum Carribean Fusion 13 Years was born from a peculiar blend of three rums from as many different territories: Guyana, Jamaica and Nicaragua. The production of the three distillates begins with the cultivation of sugar cane and, after the ripe plant has been pressed, the juice is left to ferment. The subsequent distillation phase takes place in Patent Still column stills and after the three distillates have been blended, they are aged for 13 years in oak casks. This maturation phase takes place in Scotland, where the unique climatic conditions create an ideal environment for the proper sensory evolution of the rum. Moreover, the Scots are the most skilled people in the art of distilled spirit maturation by virtue of their long and established tradition in whisky production. At the end of the ageing process, the rum is finally bottled and marketed under the Moon Import brand.
Moon Import's Fusion Carribean 13 Anni has a brilliant amber colour. The nose releases notes of exotic fruits, honey, citrus and roasted nuts, while the taste is warm and smooth, sweet and smooth, delicately spiced.
