SAINT-EMILION CHATEAU LE BARRY 2022 DESCRIPTION

Chateau Le Barry's Saint-Émilion represents anaccessible and balanced expression of the Saint-Émilion terroir, the result of a production approach based on respect for the environment. Chateau Le Barry is a small winery based in Saint-Genès-de-Fronsac, on the right bank of Bordeaux, where the estate takes care of just 4 hectares of vineyards dedicated to traditional Bordeaux varieties. The winery is also a member of the Vignerons Indépendants association, founded in 1978 with the aim of promoting the work of small independent winegrowers, such as Chateau Le Barry. The organisation's production cornerstones include respect for terroir and local traditions, independent and exclusive cultivation of their own vineyards and independent wine production.

Chateau Le Barry Saint-Émilion consists of a blend of the traditional Bordeaux grape varieties Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, cultivated in accordance with organic farming regulations on soils characterised by a high presence of clay and limestone. The microclimate is then influenced by the nearby presence of the Dordogne river and the Atlantic Ocean, with its cold currents. Once harvested, the grapes are carefully selected by hand and then vinified in red with alcoholic fermentation in contact with the skins in thermoregulated stainless steel tanks. Once the fermentation process is complete, the wine is left to mature for several months in stainless steel and in French oak barrels, both new and from several passages.

The Saint-Émilion signed Chateau Le Barry has an intense garnet red colour. Aromas of ripe red fruits, gingerbread and sweet spices such as vanilla characterise the olfactory texture together with balsamic hints. The taste is soft and elegant, well balanced in its components, with integrated tannins supporting the overall structure. The intensely fruity finish then surprises with its power and complexity.
