SANGIOVESE 'BRAGHAUS' BRAGAGNI 2018 DESCRIPTION

Sangiovese 'Braghaus' is the flagship wine of the Bragagni winery, a true ambassador of the great Romagna tradition. In fact, the vine has been present in these lands for centuries, as well as in Tuscany, and has acclimatised very well to the soil and climatic conditions of the region. The label was created with the intention of highlighting the territory's aptitude, not only for producing fruity and fragrant wines, but also for proposing intense, evolved and complex reds destined for ageing. The long ageing in wood, in fact, gives Sangiovese a soft and harmonious character , rich and enveloping, which makes it particularly suitable for pairing with meat dishes, such as a mixed grill or roast game.

"Braghaus" is a Sangiovese produced by the Bragagni winery, with grapes coming from the company's estate, which can count on approximately three hectares of vineyards, set within a vast property of over twenty hectares, located in Fognano, near Brisighella. In this magnificent hilly inland area, the vineyards are cultivated at an altitude of 350 metres above sea level and are surrounded by woods, which create a healthy and uncontaminated ecosystem. The soils are predominantly composed of sand, resting on deeper layers of limestone rocks. The climate is mild and is influenced by sea breezes, which help create an ideal habitat for Sangiovese. At the end of the harvest, the best bunches are transported to the cellar for spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and classic maceration on the skins. The wine matures for about two years in oak tonneaux, before completing its refinement in the bottle.

Bragagni's red Sangiovese 'Braghaus' is the ultimate expression of a carefully crafted red wine with a sincere and forthright character. Dark garnet in colour with luminous ruby highlights, it is distinguished by an intense and rich aromatic palette, reminiscent of ripe cherries, small red berries, plums, herbs, delicately spiced nuances, hints of leather, blond tobacco and noble woods. Structured and complex, it has a ripe and perfectly integrated tannic texture to a harmonious and satisfying sip, which stretches towards a long and very persistent finish.
