SAPAIO MAGNUM 2019 DESCRIPTION

Sapaio is the great and powerful interpretation of Bolgheri produced by the Podere of the same name, a young and vibrant winery that has made innovation its focus. The link with the territory and experimentation the strong points of this reality that rises in the heart of this prestigious region, Castagneto Carducci. This is a refined red, the winery's flagship wine that was born from a careful new decoding of the terroir and years of study and experimentation with a high technical profile, to arrive today at a position, with its power, austerity and longevity of taste, in the range of the greatest Bolgheri.

Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot are the grapes that make up Sapaio's DNA. They are harvested and selected by hand in the winery's 25 hectares of vineyards, which are composed of clay and sand and rich in limestone, a necessary component to bring out the finesse and character typical of great reds. In the winery the grapes ferment in steel tanks with long maceration on the skins, followed by malolactic fermentation in French oak barriques, where the wine ages for 18 months. Another 8 to 10 months of bottle aging complete the production process and allow the wine to reach its maximum expression.

Sapaio Rosso presents itself with an intense chromatic appearance: ruby with purple highlights. On the nose come, without hesitation, the typical terroir sensations: humus, oregano, tea, mineral reflexes, berries. The palate is powerful, robust with great austerity, animated by good freshness and pleasant tannic vibrations, with long juicy finish and smoky notes. Body, character, cleanliness and strong connection to the terroir make this Rosso Sapaio a great companion for the table or for a moment of contemplation.
