The Sassicaia is theworld's best-known Italian wine, the quintessence of balance in terms of body and complexity. It was born from the ingenuity of Mario Incisa della Rocchetta who, as early as the 1920s, dreamed of creating a thoroughbred wine, purebred like the horses he then owned in his stud farm. So he decided to plant Cabernet Sauvignon and Franc grapes in Tenuta San Guido, because of the similarity he had noticed between these soils and the Bordeaux area: stony, rocky terrain, just like a 'Sassicaia'.

On the palate it is appreciated for its intensity, vigour of the arduous terroir from which it comes, and a texture perfectly embroidered with freshness and savouriness.
