SASSICAIA TENUTA SAN GUIDO 2021 DESCRIPTION

The Sassicaia is theworld's best-known Italian wine, the quintessence of balance in terms of body and complexity. It is a red wine that is both the jewel in the crown of Italian oenology, the milestone for the excellence that has since established itself and the keystone of the area's oenological renaissance. It was born from the ingenuity of Mario Incisa della Rocchetta who, as early as the 1920s, dreamed of creating a thoroughbred wine, purebred like the horses he then owned in his stud farm. So he decided to plant Cabernet Sauvignon and Franc grapes in Tenuta San Guido, because of the similarity he had noticed between these soils and the Bordeaux area: stony, rocky terrain, just like a 'Sassicaia'.

Sassicaia Tenuta San Guido, also thanks to the invaluable contribution of the oenologist Giacomo Tachis, has become the symbol of wine production of the highest quality, known and appreciated throughout the world, a cultural symbol like the hand of the master of Italian oenology that has caressed it for so long. Andit will grace all grand occasions and sumptuous dinners, but sipped in pleasant solitude and meditation it will amaze you like no other. The grapes are grown in one of the estate's most celebrated cru, composed of a mosaic of natural elements. The unique conformation of the soil, the west, south-west exposure and the altitude of 100-300 metres have created the perfect cradle in which to germinate this prestigious oenological treasure.

Bolgheri Sassicaia is a sumptuous red, with a precious ruby mantle, like the stone from which it takes its colour. The nose is captivated by notes of ripe cherries, blackberries, blackcurrants, rosemary, lavender, raspberry leaves and herbaceous world, all accompanied by a hint of elegant oak and slight hints of pipe tobacco. On the palate it is appreciated for its intensity, vigour of the arduous terroir from which it comes, and a texture perfectly embroidered with freshness and savouriness. Engaging: an expression to be listened to and with intense nuances. It loves time and does not fear it, in fact it expresses at its best the history it holds with ageing. It is a masterpiece of the impervious land of Bolgheri, unique and with broad evolution; it is even the only one to have a reserved appellation specification. A staordinaria excellence, daughter of a historic and symbolic winery in the Italian wine world! Number one
