SAUTERNES PREMIER GRAND CRU CLASSÉ CHATEAU GUIRAUD 2019 - 37.5CL DESCRIPTION

Chateau Guiraud's Sauternes Premier Grand Cru Classé is a dessert mould that originates in the area southeast of the city of Bordeaux, a region that has been famous for centuries for producing sweet wines of extraordinary charm. The grapes are harvested in a late harvest when the berries are attacked by Botrytis Cinerea, the noble rot that gives the liquid intense and complex aromas. It is soft, enveloping, velvetyp and for centuries has represented absolute excellence in the field of sweet wines. It can be enjoyed with some dry pastries, a board of blue, or very mature cheeses. Also, try it with foie gras!

Sweet Sauternes Premier Grand Cru Classé was born in one of the historic Domaines of the Sauternes Appellation. Already known as "Maison Noble du Bayle," the Domaine took on the name of its new owner in 1766, becoming Chateau Guiraud. A long family history that has spanned many generations, never losing sight of the tradition of the land and the pursuit of excellence. Today the estate is managed by four partners, who took over the property in 2006. The Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc vineyards are located on soils with a surface layer of sands and clays, which insist on a deep substrate of limestone-clay marls. The total extent of the estate is about 128 hectares and can boast the recognition of Premier Cru Classé, a tangible sign certifying the absolute quality of the grapes.

Chateau Guiraud's Sauternes Premier Grand Cru Classé is made from the soft pressing of grapes affected by Botrytis Cinerea, a mould that helps enrich the grapes' aromatic spectrum with elegant notes. Before bottling, the wine matures for at least 18 months in large barrels. The colour is deep golden yellow. The bouquet expresses aromas of citrus peel, yellow fruit, soft nuances of tropical fruit, hints of pastry, hints of oriental spices and the characteristic musty notes. The sip is persuasive and harmonious, with an enveloping and complex centre of the mouth, with sweet and rich fruit, which finds just the right balance in a refreshing finish, closing on savoury sensations.
