SAUVIGNON TOURAINE DOMAINE OUDART 2022 DESCRIPTION

Domaine Oudart's Sauvignon Touraine is a classic version of the Loire Valley's iconic grape variety. It is a fresh, fragrant, savoury and vibrant white wine that perfectly illustrates the aromatic characteristics of the grape, in the sign of the refined elegance typical of this terroir. Far from excessively rich and opulent expressions, all attention is directed towards making a wine with an energetic and vertical profile, linear and essential. It is a perfect white to be enjoyed with langoustines, prawns and, more generally, with shellfish and seafood, or with asparagus dishes or risotto with nettle or wild herbs.

Sauvignon Touraine wine is produced in the central area of the Loire Valley. Domaine Oudart, in fact, is based in Monthou-sur-Cher and has preserved the traditional character of a small family business, producing wines with care and craftsmanship. Its property stretches along the banks of the River Cher, a tributary of the Loire, and covers a total area of around 11 hectares, conducted with great care for the environment and currently in organic conversion. The vineyards face east and are located at an altitude of about 100 metres above sea level. The soils are particularly suitable and consist of sand, clay, with the presence of limestone, silica and gypsum. Thanks to the cool, ventilated climate, the Sauvignon Blanc matures slowly, with a very elegant aromatic profile. After the grapes' soft pressing, fermentation occurs in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. The wine then matures for 7 months in steel vats.

The Sauvignon Touraine Domaine Oudart wine is the typical white wine of the region. It is the bottle one expects to taste when one chooses the aromatic purity and refined finesse of the great Sauvignons of the Loire Valley. A beautiful bright straw yellow colour with luminous reflections and an intense, fragrant and elegant bouquet characterises the wine. It opens on the nose with floral sensations of hawthorn, acacia flowers and orange blossom, citrus aromas, vegetal nuances, and aromas of green apple, cartridge melon and white peach. Clear and taut on the palate, it expresses fruity aromas with pleasant citrus hints and a savoury finish, characterised by a lively freshness.
