Soave Classico 'Monte Alto' Ca' Rugate 2021

Soave Classico Superiore Monte Alto belongs to the ranks of crus produced by Ca' Rugate, historical company owned by the Tessari family born in the heart of Valpolicella, among the hills of Monteforte d'Alpone and Montecchia Crosara, and witness for over a century of winegrowing practices closely linked to the local traditions and grape varietes. All the grapes of Ca 'Rugate are vinified in the cellar of Montecchia Crosara, bearing the latest design and technology features. Spread over more than 4000 meters of surface and divided in 3 levels, the cellar allows the company to concentrate in one place all the processes of fermentation, aging, bottling and storage. The vineyards, located on the hill Rugate from which the company name derives, are grown in part with the system of pergola Veronese, in part with Guyot. The main grape is Garganega, from which Ca' Rugate produces the celebrated Soave Classico. In the south-facing slopes, where the cultivation of the vine finds particularly favorable conditions, the soil is rich in basalt, clay and silt. The area is large and rather homogeneous, with particular characteristics that have made possible the identification of micro-zones and areas suitable for obtaining a fresh, balanced, persistent and full of personality Soave Classico. In this highly suited terroir all the wines produced gain a strong acid structure, with mineral and sapid peaks highly recognizable, dictated by the wide volcanic debris within the soil. These are the conditions that give rise to Soave Classico Superiore Monte Alto by Ca' Rugate: warm and soft, with a structure that can support wide changes after a few years, Soave Classico Monte Alto is produced with the best grapes from the vineyards of Monteforte d'Alpone, bringing an high varietal expression that seals, in this way, the great relationship built up over time between the company Ca 'Rugate and the hills of Soave.
