SOAVE CLASSICO 'MONTE GRANDE' PRÀ 2021 DESCRIPTION

Soave Classico "Monte Grande" from the Graziano Prà winery is a white wine with a strong personality, intense, fresh and ripe, perfectly expressing the noble tradition of Soave whites. It is made with a majority percentage of Garganega, which gives structure and rich aromas, adding a small balance of Trebbiano di Soave, which contributes to its lively freshness to give momentum and smoothness to the sip. The quality of the grapes and a long ageing in wood give a complex and mineral white, an authentic expression of terroir and the art of a great winemaker.

"Monte Grande" is a Soave Classico that comes from the vineyard's grapes of the same name, about 40 years old, located in Monteforte d'Alpone, in the heart of the historic area of the appellation. It is an old family property, which marked the beginning of Graziano Prà's adventure in the wine world. Today it is recognized as one of the most important cru ever, capable of yielding grapes of extraordinary quality. It is located about 150 meters above sea level, with sunny exposure facing south and on terrain of volcanic origin. During the harvest, the shoots of the clusters are cut off, and the grapes are left to dry on the vine for about a month to encourage a natural concentration of aromas and sugars. This is followed by soft pressing and fermentation of the free-run juice in large 15- and 20-hectoliter Allier barrels at about 18 degrees Celsius. The wine matures for 10 months in large 30-hectoliter Allier oak barrels and finishes ageing with several months in the bottle.

Graziano Prà's white Soave Classico "Monte Grande" is one of the reference labels for those who want to know the best of this territory, which is historically devoted to producing excellent white wines for ageing. Son of a cru of particular value, the wine is light yellow in colour with luminous reflections. Elegant and intense, it conquers aromas of citrus, medlar, yellow-fleshed fruit, peach, hints of pineapple and herbs. The sip is savoury and rich, characterized by a pleasant expressive ripeness, well balanced by a very fresh and mineral closure. A must-have label.
