SPARKLING WINE METODO CLASSICO DI NERELLO DBE - TENUTA SOLISCIARO 2021 DESCRIPTION

The Nerello Dosaggio Zero DBE – Tenuta Solisciaro Metodo Classico sparkling wine is a sparkling wine with a vibrant mineral personality, produced on the slopes of Mount Etna by the De Bartoli family. The De Bartoli family is no stranger to producing high-quality Metodo Classico sparkling wines made from indigenous Sicilian grape varieties, particularly with their ‘Terzavia’ selection, crafted in the Marsala area using traditional local grapes. With this Nerello Metodo Classico, we shift to the opposite side of the island, where the De Bartoli family is writing a new chapter in their glorious winemaking history.

The DBE – Tenuta Solisciaro Spumante Metodo Classico Nerello Dosaggio Zero is made from pure Nerello Mascalese grapes grown on volcanic soils at an altitude of over 700 meters above sea level, an essential factor for preserving the organic acids in the grapes. In the winery, the grapes undergo direct gentle pressing, followed by spontaneous alcoholic fermentation of the must in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The sparkling base wine then matures on fine lees for 6 months in steel, after which it undergoes bottle fermentation according to the Metodo Classico, with at least 18 months of aging on the lees. Finally, the sparkling wine is disgorged and topped up with the same wine, with no dosage added.

The Metodo Classico Dosaggio Zero Nerello DBE – Tenuta Solisciaro De Bartoli has a brilliant straw-yellow color with slight coppery hues and fine, persistent bubbles. On the nose, it offers pleasant aromas of white peach, grapefruit, wisteria, and almond, combined with mineral notes reminiscent of graphite. The palate is fresh and deep, with a delightful salinity leading to an elegant and persistent finish.
