"Contea Sclafani" is a Sparkling Wine Metodo Classico among the protagonists of Sicilian bubbles. It is selected from Chardonnay grapes located at 450-900 meters above sea level and aged for two years on the lees. The fragrant and fresh aromas of young fruit open the door to an elegant, creamy taste, with hints of pleasant freshness and sapidity
Tasca d'Almerita's Spumante Brut "Contea Sclafani" Regaleali was born in Sicily, specifically in the province of Palermo. The winery presents itself as one of the most renowned in the Sicilian winemaking scene since they have been handing down passion and experience in this field for no less than eight generations. Today, the Tasca family is represented by Alberto and Giuseppe, who have been able to treasure the family legacy and the passion breathed day after day in the winery, projecting this into the future with an eye toward sustainability and respect for biodiversity.
The Chardonnay grapes in Tasca d'Almerita's Spumante Brut "Contea Sclafani" Regaleali come from the Cava Rina vineyard, which covers about 16 hectares. They are located about 500 meters above sea level, and the vines are about 28 years old. The exposure is south/southwest with good sunlight, which is essential for the grapes to ripen. The climate is characterized by mild, moisture-free winters and hot, sultry summers. Harvesting occurs manually towards the end of August, and in the winery, malolactic and alcoholic fermentation occurs according to the dictates of the Metodo Classico with a second re-fermentation in the bottle. It ages 24 months on the lees.
To the eye, Tasca d'Almerita's Spumante Brut "Contea Sclafani" Regaleali is a golden yellow with brilliant reflections and a fine, persistent perlage. The bouquet of aromas is broad and is reminiscent of ripe yellow-fleshed fruit and the crust of freshly baked bread; the mouth is invaded by its creaminess and softness, balanced by the freshness that entices drinking cup after cup. In pairing it is recommended with grilled fish dishes, shellfish and crustaceans; also interesting with first courses dressed with seasonal vegetables. A product suitable for formal aperitifs, sharing in the glass a wine that is the result of careful work and experience.
