SPUMANTE METODO CLASSICO ROSÉ BRUT '530' TENUTA DI CASEO - TOMMASI 2017 DESCRIPTION

The Spumante Metodo Classico ‘530’ Rosé Brut by Tenuta di Caseo – Tommasi is a sparkling wine based on Pinot Nero that combines refinement and personality. The appellation ‘530’ refers to the altitude of the vineyards from which the grapes originate, a positive factor in promoting the accumulation of aromatic precursors in the grapes and consequently enhancing the aromas of the sparkling base. Specifically, the vineyards are located in the territory of Colli Verdi, a municipality situated in the heart of Oltrepò Pavese.

The ‘530’ Tenuta di Caseo – Tommasi Spumante Metodo Classico Brut Rosé is a 100% Pinot Nero from vineyards with an average age of 20 years, planted on clayey soils with the presence of active limestone, at an altitude of 530 meters above sea level. Following the harvest, which takes place early in the second half of August, the grapes are vinified as rosé through a short cold skin maceration directly in the press in an inert environment. After gentle pressing, only the free-run juice ferments in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 16°C for 10-12 days. Once ready, the sparkling base is bottled with the addition of tirage syrup for refermentation in the bottle according to the Metodo Classico, with 36 months of aging on the lees, after which disgorgement and final Brut dosage take place.

The Metodo Classico Brut Rosé Spumante ‘530’ from Tenuta di Caseo – Tommasi has a delicate pink color with refined effervescence. The aroma offers hints of red fruits such as raspberry and wild strawberry that blend with notes of dog rose and citrus hints. The taste is dry and refreshing, with excellent balance, and a pleasant finish that lingers on the sensations of forest fruits and rose petals perceived earlier on the nose.
