Vallepicciola's Spumante Rosé 'Perlinetto 25° Anniversario' pays homage to the winery's first quarter century. It is a fine sparkling wine made from Pinot Noir, an international grape variety that gives great expression on the clay soils around the winery. In the glass it shimmers a delicate onion skin pink with fine, persistent perlage, while the nose reveals intense notes of flowers and citrus fruits, with hints of pastry on the finish. Vallepicciola's Spumante Rosé 'Perlinetto 25° Anniversario' is a Metodo Classico made from Pinot Noir grapes that impresses with its savoury and persistent taste. This bubbly, produced in a very limited edition, was created to celebrate 25 years since the inauguration of the Tuscan Vallepicciola project, strongly linked to the world of Chianti but also to that of sparkling wines. Testifying to the property's love for bubbles, Vallepicciola also started producing Champagne in the Côte des Bar in 2022 under the P. Vallée brand.
Vallepicciola 'Perlinetto 25° Anniversario' Spumante Rosé is made from only Pinot Noir grapes grown sustainably in the Pievasciata area of Castelnuovo Berardenga. The vines stand on calcareous-clayey soils characterised by the presence of marl and limestone, located at an altitude of 420-480 metres above sea level. Harvesting takes place in the second ten days of August, so as to preserve the acidity of the grapes, which are then vinified through soft pressing with brief skin maceration directly in the press, an operation associated with the use of inert gas and dry ice, respectively, to protect the must from oxidation and to lower its temperature. This is followed by alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks and subsequent ageing for 6 months on the fine lees. This is followed by re-fermentation in the bottle according to the Metodo Classico, with a long resting period of 60 months on the lees before final disgorgement and subsequent low dosage.
Spumante Rosé Vallepicciola 'Perlinetto 25° Anniversario' is an onion skin colour with orange reflections and subtle, persistent effervescence. The nose offers fascinating hints of lavender, violet, pink grapefruit, orange, cherry and small pastries while the taste is fresh and enveloping, with great flavour and persistence.
