Sylvaner Riserva "Alte Reben" is the spearhead of a range of top wines produced by the South Tyrolean winery Pacherhof. Sylvaner is one of the most representative grape varieties of the Eisack Valley, certainly the one capable of giving the most elegant and refined wines. The fruit of an old vineyard that produces grapes of superior quality, this label represents the ultimate expression of this grape and one of the absolute most interesting whites in the region. A perfect synthesis of finesse, complexity and longevity, it is a connoisseur's bottle, absolutely to be discovered.
"Alte Reben" Sylvaner Riserva Pacherhof comes from one of the oldest estates in the area. The farm has belonged to the family since 1142, and it has been centuries since the beautiful area of Novacella, located above Bressanone, was the cradle of fine mountain viticulture. The very cool climate and strong>strong temperature fluctuations have always proved an ideal habitat for northern European grape varieties, which have dwelled here for centuries. Today the Pacherhof estate is managed by Andreas Huber, who cultivates eight hectares of vineyards in beautiful hillside exposures and produces great handcrafted wines. The vineyards are managed with the utmost respect for the environment using organic and biodynamic farming practices. The grapes come from a historic vineyard located 650 meters above sea level, which produces a few clusters of exceptional aromatic concentration. At the end of manual harvesting, the grapes are gently pressed. The classic white fermentation is followed by 8-month ageing in large oak barrels.
Pacherhof's Sylvaner Riserva "Alte Reben" is an intense and elegant white, already very pleasant to drink young but expressing its full aromatic potential after a few years of bottle ageing. In the glass, it is straw-white in colour with luminous reflections. The olfactory profile is of extraordinary finesse, with aromas of Golden apple, pear, cartucciaro melon, nuances of wildflowers, medicinal herbs and freshly cut hay. The palate is harmonious and finely multifaceted, with delicate aromas accompanying a long, fresh and savoury finish.
