Tequila Anejo Riazul

Riazul's Añejo Tequila is a fine distillate that comes from the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. The Riazul company was founded by Inaki Orozco, an entrepreneur who inherited some land from an ancestor. Having aged for at least two years in ex-Cognac barrels, it has an amber color and a complex aromatic proflil: pineapple, caramel, ripe banana, vanilla, with subtle hints of cooked agave and cinnamon on the finish. In the mouth, its velvety, full-bodied texture offers surprising complexity, with great persistence and elegance. The finish is smooth, with recurring fine sensations of sweet spices

TEQUILA ANEJO RIAZUL DESCRIPTION

Riazul's Tequila Añejo is a premium version of this classic Mexican distillate. It is made only from the blue agave variety cultivated in the Jalisco region, the most vocated region for the cultivation of this plant. High-quality raw materials, careful processing, which still follows artisanal and traditional protocols, and above all long ageing in noble woods, are the basis of a label that allows you to savour the intense, smooth taste of a great Tequila. The bouquet is enhanced by notes of tertiary evolution, which refine and enrich the aromatic spectrum.

Añejo Riazul is a Tequila born near Santa María del Valle. In the late 1990s, Iñaki Orozco planted blue agave, which, thanks to the cool climate and volcanic soils of the Jalisco plateau, has adapted very well, producing plants with rich aromas and a high sugar content. Thanks to the work of experienced jimadors, the adult agaves are cut to obtain the heart, the precious piña, which is then cooked slowly in traditional brick ovens. This is followed by grinding to extract the juice, which is then sent for fermentation in large wooden vats, where, thanks to the action of yeasts, the sugar is transformed into alcohol. At the end of this process, everything is ready for the double distillation stage in traditional stills. The result is a 55% vol. distillate that matures for two years in French oak barrels, previously used for ageing Cognac.

Riazul's Tequila Añejo is the choice of those who love mature and evolved distillates that express the elegant charm of suave tertiary notes. The long ageing period in precious woods gives the Tequila an amber colour with luminous golden highlights. The olfactory picture is complex, with aromas of sweet oriental spices, vanilla, cinnamon, hints of yellow-fleshed fruit, pineapple, hints of banana and tropical fruit, hints of caramel, honey, cooked agave and toasted nuts. With good structure and intensity of flavour, it offers a broad and rich, persuasive and satisfying entry to the palate, which stretches harmoniously towards a sweet and spicy finish.
