Tequila 'Fuerte Silver Overproof' Don Fulano

Don Fulano's 'Fuerte Silver Overproof' Tequila is a distillate with an intense aromatic character, a forthright expression of the territory of Atotonilco, a plateau in the state of Jalisco. In particular, what characterises this tequila, belonging to the Silver category, is the fact that it contains an alcohol content of 50%, an attribute that makes this distillate 'Overproof'.

Fuerte Silver Overproof' Don Fulano Tequila is produced from Maduro and Pinto agave plants grown on the Atotonilco plateau and water from the springs of the Tequila volcano. Once the agave has reached full ripeness, the sugary heart, locally called 'piña' because of its resemblance to the pineapple, is harvested and extracted. The piña then undergoes the 28-32 hour cooking process, followed by mechanical pressing to extract the sugary juice contained within. This is sent to alcoholic fermentation in open vats for a period of 72-96 hours, with the subsequent distillation process taking place in discontinuous copper stills. The subsequent maturation phase, which lasts for at least 6 months, takes place in stainless steel tanks, without the use of wood in order to preserve the purity of the tequila. For the same purpose, the distillate does not undergo any cold filtration.

On visual inspection, Tequila Don Fulano 'Fuerte Silver Overproof' shows a transparent and crystal-clear appearance. Intense hints of jasmine and orange blossom emerge from the glass, complemented by hints of baked apple and earthy, iodine notes on the finish. In the mouth, it reveals a soft but decisive character, as well as being warm and mineral, with a persistent finish that brings back the sensations perceived on the nose.
