TREBBIANO D'ABRUZZO 'CASTELLO DI SEMIVICOLI' MASCIARELLI 2020 DESCRIPTION

Masciarelli's 'Castello di Semivicoli' Trebbiano d'Abruzzo represents a full and seductive expression of this renowned Abruzzo appellation, made by one of the wineries that have written the region's wine history. Castello di Semivicoli, a 17th-century baronial palace surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, is now the wine resort of the Masciarelli winery. The estate was named after the line of the same name, which consists of three labels, including this delicious Trebbiano d'Abruzzo. In addition, the castle offers the opportunity to stay, take custom cooking classes, organize events and many other activities.

Masciarelli 'Castello di Semivicoli' Trebbiano d'Abruzzo is made from only grapes of the native variety of the same name grown within the municipality of Casacanditella, 380 meters above sea level. In the winery, pre-fermentation cryomaceration is initially carried out, aimed at maximum extraction of the polyphenolic substances contained in the skins, followed by gentle pressing and static decantation of the must. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, the same type of container in which the mass matures for a year on the fine lees. After an additional 24 months of bottle aging the wine is finally ready for release.

In the goblet, Masciarelli's Trebbiano d'Abruzzo 'Castello di Semivicoli' exhibits a luminous straw-yellow guise. The nose is fruity and floral in its aromas of exotic fruit and wildflowers, followed by intense iodine-infused mineral hints. Full, fresh and savoury taste, with a long mineral and fruity epilogue consistent with the sensations evoked by the nose. A white to pair with tasty fish dishes from the Adriatic Sea or with various earthy dishes.
