Zidarich's Vitovska "V Collection" is a rich and deep orange wine produced only in vintages deemed excellent. Beniamino Zidarich is one of the best-known custodians of the Karst, a magical land in the province of Trieste that acts as a watershed between Italy and Slovenia, capable of producing artisanal liquids that meet the tastes of all enthusiasts. Elegance, complexity, typicality. The grape varieties that hold sway are Vitovska, Malvasia Istriana, Terrano and Refosco, as well as small quantities of Merlot and Sauvignon, all enhanced by the centred and very fine interpretations of Beniamino, a producer who has chosen to let his land speak for itself.
The "V Collection" comes from a selection of the winery's best Vitovska grapes, produced in only 1,300 pieces. Maximum respect for the vineyard and biodiversity, so any chemical or synthetic products are banned. After the grapes are harvested by hand and carefully sorted, the bunches are taken to the winery for destemming. Fermentation takes place spontaneously, while the must is macerated for about 20 days in contact with the skins and aged for about 22 months in large Slavonian oak barrels. No clarification or filtration before bottling.
Zidarich's Vitovska "V Collection" reveals itself in the glass with a deep golden yellow colour edged with orange reflections. The nose is very rich and varied, telling in a succession of white flowers, clarified butter, brackish memories and a chalky background. The suggestions continue to chase each other, sketching a dynamic liquid, always in motion. The taste is beautiful because of the cohesion of the elements, among which emerges a nect savoriness, capable of lengthening the sip while fading with remarkable persistence. Great orange wine, which satisfies lovers of the type while surprising those who seek elegance and drinkability as a white.
