Vosne Romanee Premier Cru 'Les Chaumes' Georges Noellat 2019

Domaine Georges Noëllat's Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru "Les Chaumes" is born in the communal territory of one of the legendary places of great wines, known to all wine lovers around the world. We are in the heart of the region of the world's most famous Pinot Noirs, in an Appellation that includes 14 Climat classified Premier Cru and the fabulous Grand Cru of: Romanée-Conti, Romanée Saint-Vivant, La Romanée, La Tâche, La Grande Rue, Richebourg, Échezeaux and Grands-Échezeaux. Labels that for centuries have represented the highest expression of the noble Burgundy grape variety, which gives refined and elegant, rich and complex wines destined for long aging.

The Premier Cru "Les Chaumes" Vosne-Romanée comes from a particularly prized parcel, a real jewel of the estate, which is located within the Premier Cru "Les Chaumes," bordering the famous Grand Cru La Tache. Georges Noëllat took the reins of this small family domaine in 2010 and is now considered by critics and discerning wine enthusiasts to be one of the most interesting vignerons in Burgundy. His wines are the fruit of high quality vines, managed with low yields and under a sustainable farming regime, with attention to the environmental context and without the use of chemical herbicides. The result is grapes of excellent quality, which are vinified with care and great respect for the raw material using traditional winemaking. The wine ages for about 18 months in French oak barrels, partly new and partly already used.

"Les Chaumes" Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru, is one of the most prestigious labels of Domaine Georges Noëllat, an expression of a famous Climat of the territory, which has always been considered among the most interesting for the high and constant level of its wines. To the eye it shows a bright ruby red color. The olfactory profile is intense and refined, with aromas of currant, morello cherry, raspberry, soft spicy notes, hints of violet, hints of underbrush, humus, leather and noble woods. The palate has a dense and evolved tannic texture, with complex and persistent aromas, giving a deep and harmonious sip, marked by a finish of clear mineral freshness.
