Artist Collective's Caol Ila 10 yo Single Malt Whisky is an exclusive edition by La Maison du Whisky, part of the Artist Collect 5.0 series that features an artistic label by Loren Klein. This is a heavily peaty whisky produced by Caol Ila on the island of Islay, where it is aged for 10 years in ex-Sherry casks and develops an intense smoky profile. The nose has hints of ripe yellow fruit and walnut, hints of Sherry, while the palate is warm and persistent, with a pleasant roughness to the sip and lingering hints of smoke. A celebratory bottle perfect for great moments
The Single Malt Caol Ila 10 Years Old Whisky from the Artist Collective project is a Scotch whisky of sublime complexity and value, the result of the collaboration between the well-known Caol Ila distillery and the French La Maison du Whisky. In particular, Caol Ila is one of the most important distilleries in the Islay area, an area renowned for the intense, peaty character of its whiskies. However, Caol Ila's style is fresh and delicate, with lighter peat sensations. For the Artist Collective project, La Maison du Whisky selected this and other leading Scottish distilleries that reflect the enormous variety of existing expressions of Scotch whisky. The appellation Artist Collective then derives from the fact that the labels are illustrated by different contemporary artists.
Caol Ila 10 Years Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky Artist Collective is produced in the Islay area from pure peat barley malt. This is combined with hot water during the mashing process that precedes the alcoholic fermentation. The fermented product is then distilled in copper stills, with the resulting precious liquid being aged for 10 long years in oak barrels previously used for sherry maturation.
The Single Malt Scotch Whisky 10 Years Old Caol Ila Artist Collective has an appearance between deep golden and amber. Very intense hints of ripe yellow fruit, chocolate, sweet spices and tobacco describe the complex olfactory context together with hints of walnut from ageing in ex-sherry casks and smoky notes typical of peat. The taste is confirmed in its intensity and richness, attributes that do not detract from the overall finesse, with a warm, soft embrace that accompanies the smoky sensations in a pleasantly rough finish.
