WHISKY SINGLE MALT ISLAY 'BUNNAHABHAIN' SAMAROLI 1988 DESCRIPTION

The Islay Single Malt Whisky 'Bunnahabhain' from the well-known Italian brand Samaroli is configured as a precious and sought-after distillate capable of lingering in the mind and senses with its extraordinary depth of expression. This edition was distilled back in 1988 by the Islay production reality Bunnahabhain and spent an impressive 28 years aging in ex-sherry casks before being bottled by Samaroli. Only 230 bottles of this limited edition were released from a single cask, number 636.
Samaroli Single Malt Whisky 'Bunnahabhain' Islay is crafted in Scotland from only barley grains, which undergo the malting stage and are dried with peat smoke, a deposit formed from partially decomposed plant remains in which the island of Islay is rich, capable of imparting a characteristic aroma of seaweed and smoke. Following the infusion in hot water of the dried and ground malt, alcoholic fermentation is carried out through the inoculation of yeasts, from which the so-called "wash" is obtained. The brew is then distilled in Pot Still copper stills and, once the distillation process is complete, the 28-year aging phase takes place in oak barrels previously used for sherry maturation. The whiskey is finally bottled and marketed by Samaroli.
Samaroli's 'Bunnahabhain' Single Malt Whisky Islay is straw yellow in color with auburn highlights. Complex hints of powder, iodine and peat characterize the nose, surrounded by smoky hints, balsamic notes of mint and pleasant hints of spice. The taste is rich and elegant, intense and at the same time fine and graceful, endowed with a long, almost pungent persistence in which the peat sensations perceived on the nose reappear.
