Jujube' is a macerated white wine with an original and intriguing character, from Languedoc and made from a variety atypical of the area, Garganega. With a marine and exotic profile, it is characterised by a fresh, rich and slightly tannic mouthfeel, accompanied by a bouquet of tropical fruit, citrus and dried fruit
The Bianco 'Jujube' represents an unprecedented interpretation of Garganega produced by the young artisanal winery Tutti Frutti Ananas, based in the Banyuls-sur-Mer area, from grapes grown in Veneto by winegrowers with whom Manuel, the project's soul, collaborates. Originally from Florence, Manuel di Vecchi Staraz moved to Roussillon to start his own oenological project in Banyuls-sur-Mer, a municipality in the Eastern Pyrenees with a long oenological tradition, founding the Vinyer de la Ruca winery. Collaboration with other artisanal winemakers then gave rise to Tutti Frutti Ananas, a project whose name is intended to emphasise the joyful and never demanding personality of the production, in contrast to the warm and structured wines that have always characterised the areao.
Tutti Frutti Ananas 'Jujube' Bianco is a 100% Garganega from vines grown in Veneto using sustainable agronomic practices, thus excluding the use of synthetic chemical substances. After harvesting, the grapes are mellowed in old oak barrels for spontaneous alcoholic fermentation, combined with approximately 7 days of pellicular maceration. In the same old oak barrels, the mass is left to mature for a few months until final bottling, carried out without the use of invasive clarification and filtration operations and with minimal or no added sulphites.
The 'Jujube' Bianco di Tutti Frutti Ananas is characterised by a beautiful, slightly veiled orange-yellow colour. The nose offers seductive hints of summer fruit, citrus peel, macerated flowers and aromatic herbs, with mineral notes of flint in the background. Dynamic and flavoursome on the palate, with marked freshness and a pleasant savoury trail, with a slight tannic sensation accompanying the excellent taste-olfactory correspondence on the finish. This orange wine is an excellent accompaniment to medium-aged cheeses and tasty seafood dishes, such as risotto with shellfish or grilled fish.
Very intense and slightle cloudy golden yellow with orange reflections
Tropical hints of pineapple, then citrus fruits such as grapefruit and peach, almond finish
Very drinkable, fresh but subtly tannic, with a mineral profile
