Torranja' is a white wine from Languedoc, with a tropical and marine character, matured for several months in cement vats. The taste is fresh and pleasant to drink, with a pronounced marine profile, enriched by hints of pineapple, maracuja, citrus and iodine nuances
The white 'Toranja' is asavoury and mineral expression of the Banyuls-sur-Mer terroir, produced with artisanal care by the Tutti Frutti Ananas winery. In particular, this white wine is made from a blend of Grenache Gris and Macabeu grapes, varieties widespread in the south of France and Spain. Specifically, Grenache Gris is the result of a gem mutation of the better-known Grenache Noir, from which it differs in the grey-pink colour of its skin. As for Macabeu, a white grape variety that goes by the name of Viura in Rioja, it is a grape that originates in Spain but is also widespread beyond the Pyrenees, in the Roussillon region, home to the Tutti Frutti Ananas project. This variety is prized for the quality and extraordinary longevity of the wines to which it gives rise.
The 'Toranja' Tutti Frutti Ananas White comes from the union of Grenache Gris and Macabeu, varieties cultivated using sustainable practices within a single plot planted on pure shale soils. In the cellar, the grapes are softly pressed directly and the must thus obtained is left to ferment spontaneously by the yeasts present on the grapes and in the winemaking environment. For the subsequent ageing phase, which lasts several months, cement containers are used. During the entire production process, the mass then undergoes no clarification or filtration.
The 'Toranja' Bianco of the artisanal reality Tutti Frutti Ananas presents itself in the glass with a straw-yellow hue with golden reflections. The aromatic bouquet is described by sensations of tropical fruit such as pineapple and sweet citrus hints reminiscent of mandarin, all complemented by hints of ripe apple and iodised mineral hints. The palate stands out for its remarkable savouriness and juicy freshness that lends a very drinkable character to the progression, anticipating the long mineral persistence on the finish.
