Faccoli is a family-run sparkling wine reality located in the municipality of Coccaglio, at the foot of Monte Orfano, in the south-western side of Franciacorta. The origins of the winery date back to 1963, when Lorenzo Faccoli, a farmer's son on Lake Iseo, started a small wine production destined for sale in demijohns as bulk wine. A little later, in the 1970s, Franciacorta sparkling wines started to become popular, prompting Lorenzo to devote himself mainly to sparkling wine production. In the 1980s, Lorenzo's barely twenty-year-old sons took over, namely Gian Mario and Claudio Faccoli, the former dedicated to managing the vineyards while the latter was responsible for the commercial side. The two began to produce and market sparkling wines without using any liqueur, following their own taste and searching for a dry and powerful style, still a distinctive feature of the estate. In the years that followed, numerous investments were made in the vineyard and cellar, with the year 2000 representing the first year in which production focused exclusively on bubbles. The contribution of Stefania, Claudio's wife, who today supports Gian Mario and her husband together with their children Francesca and Giorgio, the latest generation to join the family business, was fundamental.

The Faccoli family's estate has a total of 11 hectares, half of which are reserved for woods and the other half for vineyards, planted with Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco and Pinot Nero. These traditional varieties of the area are grown on the characteristic soil that characterises the Monte Orfano area, composed of a conglomerate of clastic sedimentary rock formed by gravel and pebbles, cemented together by sands of a quartzose-calcarenitic matrix. Each parcel is vinified separately in steel vats and after fermentation, which takes place in the bottle according to the Metodo Classico, the sparkling wines rest on the lees for a minimum of 18 months up to a good 10 years in the case of the most prestigious selections.

The Faccoli winery's range includes only Franciacorta sparkling wines produced from a single vintage, therefore potentially always vintage. Each bubble is marketed with a very low dosage, so as to highlight the qualities of the vines and the territory, as well as the unrepeatable characteristics of each vintage.
