Chateau Moulin du Rey is a family-run business in the prestigious area of Bordeaux, involved for four generations in wine making. At the helm of the winery is the Baigneau-Luro family, owner of the Chateau since 1955, now represented by Julien Luro, who has been driving since 2006. The estate is located in the small town of Targon, located in the territory of Entre-deux-Mers, south-east of the city of Bordeaux. This area, whose name means "between the two tides", referring to the peculiar geographical position close between the rivers Garonne and Dordogne, is attracting more and more interest from enthusiasts by virtue of the quality of wines produced, combined with prices that are decidedly more affordable than the "cousins" of Medoc. It is a very large territory, the largest in the entire wine region of Bordeaux, characterized by the rich presence of castles and abbeys, as well as vineyards. The symbol of the Chateau is the mill, "moulin" in French, structure that also appears on the label.

The vineyard property of Chateau Moulin du Rey comprises approximately 20 hectares, all dedicated to the traditional Bordeaux varieties Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vines are trained using the espalier system on mainly clay and limestone soils, elements that favour quality viticulture. The vines then benefit from the typically oceanic climate, influenced as much by the proximity to the Atlantic Ocean as by the presence of two large rivers, Garonne to the south and Dordogne to the north. With regard to the oenological process, fermentation in the cellar takes place in the traditional way inside large stainless steel tanks, without any temperature control. The subsequent maturation phase, which usually lasts several months, also takes place in stainless steel and the wines are finally marketed not before a further appropriate resting period in the bottle.

The Bordeaux Rouge of Chateau Moulin du Rey, the winery's label-symbol, is a classic Bordeaux blend characterised by pulpy fruit and soft tannins, as well as excellent value for money.
