Domaine Michel Gros is located in Vosne Romanée, in one of the most famous places in the world for the production of great Burgundy wines. We are in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, home of the great Pinot Noirs characterised by extraordinary elegance and complexity. The Domaine was created in 1830 and still preserves the oldest nucleus, consisting of the Vosne Romanée Premier Cru Clos des Réas, purchased in 1860 by founder Alphonse Gros. Over the years, the Domaine has progressively increased its vineyard park by acquiring numerous plots of high quality, until it reached its current 23 hectares. Today, the helm of the estate is in the hands of Pierre Gros, who represents the seventh generation of this important winegrowing dynasty.

Today, the Domaine is still managed with passion and rigorous craftsmanship for detail, with direct and punctual control over the entire process, from the vineyard to the marketing of the bottles. All harvests are carried out manually with careful selection of the best bunches, so that only healthy, ripe grapes are brought to the cellar. The bunches are further controlled before fermentation, which takes place with very delicate extractions and periodic pumping over. At the end of the natural decanting process, the wine is sent to the ageing phase, which takes place using French oak barriques, partly new and partly used, depending on the various labels. The use of wood is always very discreet, so as never to alter the varietal bouquet of the grapes.

Thanks to these particular attentions, the Domaine Michael Gros is able to offer the market a range of labels of excellent quality, which express very well the character of the great wines of the Côte de Nuits. The Domaine's range focuses mainly on the great Pinot Noirs of Vosne Romanée, Chambolle Musigny and Nuits St Georges, but there are also some excellent Chardonnay labels. The wines allow one to discover the different facets of the Appellations and the nuances of the individual crus, highlighting absolutely unique peculiarities. An indispensable Domaine for all fans of this mythical wine region.
