Freccianera winery is a family-run production reality, located in Borgonato di Cortefranca, in the province of Brescia. We are located in the heart of Franciacorta, one of the most important areas for what concerns Lombardy viticulture, known and appreciated by all wine lovers for the production of some of the most renowned bubbles in the whole Italian wine scene. It is right here that five siblings, Francesco, Gabriella, Marcello, Roberto and Pia Donata, have been dedicated, since 1967, to the production of identity labels, which are born under the banner of respect for the ecosystem and the environment, conceived and thought thanks to the continuous confrontation with the oenologist Cesare Ferrari, who, for more than thirty years, has held the role of technical director of the winery.
The vineyards owned by Freccianera cover an area of about 70 hectares, included between the Franciacorta and Curtefranca appellations. Among the rows are obviously the most characteristic grape varieties of this area, such as Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. The terroir has a morainic origin, characterized mostly by a limestone component; the climate is temperate, also influenced by the proximity to Lake Iseo, which is perfect for growing vines. In the vineyard, management is conventional, but no synthetic products harmful to the environment are used, in compliance with adherence to a protocol proposed by the European Community on "eco-environmental culture." The winery, which is developed inside the magnificent restored buildings, whose origin is between the 13th and 16th centuries, is where the magic happens, and the products signed Freccianera take shape and life. Particular attention is obviously paid to the making of Franciacorta wines, the method of which requires the right amount of patience to give rise to quality bottles.
Freccianera focuses mainly on Lombardy bubbles born within the Franciacorta DOCG, as well as a couple of labels of still white and red wines. Among the different expressions with which Franciacorta is presented, there are many labels that one should, sooner or later, taste: the "Casa delle Colonne" line touches the apex of a production of great quality.
