This very important domaine is located in Savigny-les-Beaune, a small village in Burgundy, in the department of Cote d'or. Antonin Guyon in 1960 creates the "domaine", by purchasing some vineyards in the "cote de Gevrey-Chambertin" and "cote de Meursault"; son Dominique, Antonin succeeded in running the business, manages to buy, not without great effort, 350 parcels from 80 vignerons, in the most famous and known wine region of Burgundy, the "haute cote de Nuits". This is a total of 22 hectares, totally exposed to the south, on clay-limestone soils particularly suited for the production of the two main varieties of the region: Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, from which all the wines produced in the "domaine". Today the vineyard area of the "domaine" is 48 hectares. Dominique puts an almost obsessive attention in all phases of work: care of the vineyard with very few treatments, harvesting strictly by hand, with a first selection of the grapes in the vineyard and a second in the cellar, where the grapes arrive within 30 minutes from the time the collection; in the basement, under the leadership of Vincent Nicot, renowned winemaker, all operations are carried out with the utmost care and the utmost respect for the traditions of "manipulant" of Burgundy. In the beautiful cellar red wines age in oak casks for at least 12 months before being put in the bottle. In the wide range of famous wines produced by the winery Guyon, Pinot Noir Corton Clos-du-Roy certainly stands out: encapsulates aromas and typical of this area which, rightly, can be considered the home of Pinot Noir.
