La Colombera

The La Colombera winery has proved to be one of the most important wineries in the Tortona area. This is an area with a strong tradition of winemaking that has shown great vitality and attachment to the land. This can be clearly observed in the dynamism of Elisa Semino, who manages the La Colombera winery. Established in 1937 by her grandparents, it was then managed for several decades by her father Piercarlo.

The arrival at the winery in 1997 of the young Elisa, who had just graduated in enology, was decisive in the production of high quality wine and the transformation of the old family farm into a winery of prestige. Today La Colombera covers 24 hectares of vineyards, entirely dedicated to native vines, in a splendid natural amphitheatre overlooking the Tortona plain. The soils are clayey and rich in limestone, thanks to the local marl of Sant'Agata, a chalky formation that has contributed to the production of elegant and fragrant wines. Compared to other areas of Tortona, the climate in the village of Vho, where La Colombera is located, is warmer and drier, resulting in an earlier ripening of the grapes.

The La Colombera winery has always dedicated the utmost attention to Timorasso. This is the main grape variety of the area, and produces white wines that are distinguished by their grace, balance and elegance. Thanks to a harmonious and impeccable style, the wines of La Colombera have been successfully imposing themselves as the magnificent fruit of a marvellous territory, providing pleasant discoveries to all wine lovers.
