It has been known for a long time that Irpinia produces wines that are fresh, rich and fragrant, although the Pietracupa winery has introduced us to interpretations of exceptional complexity, longevity and authentic minerality as well. This achievement, which is shared with a few other wineries in the area, is certainly thanks to Sabino Loffredo, a man of great personality, who has always strived to compete with the world's greatest white wines.

The story of Pietracupa began in the early 1970s, when Peppino Loffredo purchased a property on the hill of Montefredano, near the town of Avellino. He returned to the countryside for the simple pleasure of producing a Fiano wine for himself and his closest friends. Everything changed, however, in 1999, when his son Sabino joined the company after working on ships around the world. Thus the Pietracupa project was born: from Sabino's incredible desire to professionally measure himself against the world of wine, which was in great movement at the time. Today, 13 years later, this small winery has come a long way, establishing itself in the Campania region in a decisive and convincing manner.

The Pietracupa winery is now run by Carmine Valentino, a great producer of both white wines from Campania and a superb Taurasi. The Fiano grape is cultivated around the cellar-house, on approximately 1.5 hectares of clayey-calcareous soil while the Greco is produced from rented vineyards in nearby Santa Paolina. This is an area with a great wine-making tradition, capable of producing wines of the highest calibre.
