BAROLO BROVIA 2018 DESCRIPTION

This Barolo by Brovia is one of the most traditional expressions of Langa wine. It stems from the historical passion of the Brovia winery, founded back in 1863. Since then, the Brovia family has dedicated itself to the wine of the 'Langa': true and clean, the most authentic expression of this land and of painstaking work in the vineyard. It is a Barolo that can be defined as 'traditionalist', not only for the production method that classifies it as such, but also for the philosophy behind it. Products made like they were made in the past, taking advantage of new techniques, but remaining firmly anchored to the soul of Barolo and the Langhe. Brovia wines tell of the richness and beauty of a unique territory and this Barolo with grapes from different crus is a great example of this. This choice allows the different facets of a grape variety to be faithfully reflected in the bottle, highlighting its profound and never predictable personality.

The Barolo Brovia is made from Nebbiolo grapes from estate vineyards located in different areas. During the harvest, a strong selection is made in order to carefully choose the best bunches. A long maceration on the skins and alcoholic fermentation carried out with indigenous yeasts precede malolactic fermentation and the subsequent ageing period. The latter takes place in large Slavonian oak casks and lasts about 24 months.

Brovia's Barolo embodies the finesse of Nebbiolo, presenting itself to the eye with its slightly discoloured ruby red colour. The nose reveals an interweaving of fruity notes of cherry, dried flowers and spices, against an earthy, roasted background of coffee and tobacco. In the mouth it expresses itself in a balanced manner, perfectly integrating its characteristics of structure, intensity, freshness and, above all, tannin. In short, an expression of exquisite elegance and refinement, which will have its say in the years to come.
