Lively Bonarda "Campo del Monte" is a typically territorial wine that perfectly represents the tradition of lightly sparkling reds from Oltrepò Pavese. Young, with an exuberant and bursting fruity verve, it expresses red fruit aromas, vinous and floral notes, dense tannic texture and a strong taste. It is the most classic of everyday goblets, forthright and direct in expressing the varietal characteristics of Croatina, an ancient grape variety native to northern Italy that is particularly rustic and hardy.
The red wine "Campo del Monte" comes from Rovescala, in the Oltrepò Pavese area between Pavia and Piacenza, where the historic Cantina Agnes winery is based, an essential reference point when it comes to Bonarda. The vineyards are more than 60 years old and are cultivated on a hillside with splendid southeastern exposure. Once the harvest is finished, they are vinified in red. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts takes place in steel tanks with a duration of about 3 months. The wine rests in oak barrels for at least a year and when bottled, it remains slightly sparkling, retaining the right and typical liveliness.
Fratelli Agnes' lively Bonarda "Campo del Monte" is a wine of great drinking pleasure. The fragrant, juicy fruit and fresh, slightly sparkling sip make it particularly convivial. In the glass it has a deep ruby red color with youthful violet hues. The nose is characterized by intense red fruit aromas, with spicy hints, floral nuances and hints of noble yeasts. The palate has good structure and expresses rich, ripe fruit. The vivacity of the sip pleasantly lightens the dense tannic texture of Croatina.
