BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO RISERVA LA MAGIA 2016 DESCRIPTION

Brunello di Montalcino Riserva La Màgia is the winery's most prestigious label. It is produced only in the best vintages and comes from a selection of the best grapes from the estate's most vocated plots. The long ageing period in wood gives an elegant, harmonious and refined red, which brings out the best qualities of Sangiovese di Montalcino, the vine's terroir of choice. It is a wine destined for long ageing, to be forgotten in the cellar for a few years before savouring its rich complexity when paired with roast game, a Chianina tagliata or a Florentine steak.

Brunello di Montalcino Riserva La Màgia red wine comes from the heart of the magnificent terroir of one of Italy's most famous appellations for producing great wines. For producing this prestigious cuvée, only grapes from vines over 40 years old, cultivated at an altitude of between 400 and 450 meters on the southeastern slope of Montalcino, are used. The soils are poor and stony, characterized by abundant sand on the surface and a clay substrate, which retains moisture, ensuring good water reserves even during the driest periods. Harvesting takes place between late September and early October. The grapes ferment in truncated wooden vats with a maceration period of about 45 days on the skins. The wine matures for 40 months in new French oak tonneaux and completes the long ageing period with an additional 18 months in the bottle.

Brunello di Montalcino Riserva La Màgia wine is a great red dedicated to lovers of pure Sangiovese. It shows a luminous garnet-red colour with ruby highlights. The olfactory profile is elegant and refined, with delicate floral nuances of violet, aromas of red currant, morello cherry, raspberry, cherry, hints of underbrush, medicinal herbs, liquorice root, leather, roasting, spices and noble woods. Well-structured, it is marked by a fine tannic texture, enveloping rich and intense aromas, deep and persistent, accompanying harmoniously towards a fresh and savoury closure.
