CERASUOLO D'ABRUZZO BOSSANOVA 2022 DESCRIPTION

Bossanova's Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo is a rosé made by a young and promising winery in Abruzzo, which produces artisanal wines with great passion and expertise. It was born out of a desire to enhance the region's ancient winemaking tradition with wines with a frank and direct face. Cerasuolo fits perfectly into this vision and represents the territory's most characteristic wine. It is a rosé with a rich and expressive, intense and structured character that is true to the Abruzzese tradition. It is a bottle with a strong personality, far removed from the fashions of the moment, which tend to emulate the diaphanous and subtle rosés of Provence.

The rosé Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo is the fruit of the fortunate encounter of two great wine lovers who decided to leave their respective careers as managers and musicians to dedicate themselves body and soul to the vineyard. The Bossanova estate covers four hectares in the Teramane hills of Controguerra, in the province of Teramo. The vineyards are managed under biodynamic agriculture without using chemicals or additives. The Montepulciano vineyards are cultivated at 200 metres above sea level. At the end of the harvest, the grapes are softly pressed, and the must is vinified in white with a spontaneous fermentation using only indigenous yeasts. The wine matures for 8 months in vitrified cement tanks and is bottled without clarification or filtration and with a very low dose of sulphites.

The Cerasuolo Bossanova wine expresses the typical varietal notes of Montepulciano vinified in white (pink) very well. In the glass, it is a brilliant cherry red colour. Fragrant fruity aromas of morello cherry, redcurrant, raspberry, wild strawberry, pomegranate and slight spicy nuances characterise the olfactory profile. With good structure and great aromatic richness, it has a broad, ripe, soft and juicy fruit that unfolds into a harmonious and persistent sip. The finish is pleasantly fresh and fruity. Because of its characteristics, it is a gastronomic rosé that goes very well with pasta dishes with tasty tomato sauces, cured meats, white meats and fish stews. Try it with pizza.
