The Champagne Grand Brut by Perrier Jouet is elegant, delicate and floral, born from the 3 typical grape type and aged on the lees for 36 months. Citrus, fruits and white flowers are combined in a fine and lively texture, fresh and savory
Champagne Grand Brut is the historic jewel of the Perrier-Jouët house, the first Brut created by the prestigious Maison in its quest for perfection and absolute refinement. In fact, it was born in 1856 from the noble intuition of reducing the quantity of sugar of the dosage to make the elegance of the cuvée better perceived and thus win over the English clientele, differentiating itself from the other Champagne labels, at that time anchored in the old, standardised flavours.
Champagne Grand Brut Perrier Jouët is made from a blend of 40% Pinot Noir, another 40% Pinot Meunier and 20% Chardonnay. The Pinot Noir grapes, which give the final sparkling wine structure and vinosity, come from the Grand and Premier Cru of Mailly, Versy, Aÿ and Rilly-la-Montagne. Those of Pinot Meunier, with their fruity and seductive aromas, come from the terroirs of Dizy, Damery, Venteuil, Vincelles and Vinay. The Chardonnay, on the other hand, with its fresh, mineral character, comes from the Grand Crus of Cramant, Avize, Les Mesnil and Chouilly. In order to achieve perfection, the cuvée is then composed for the most part of wines produced in the current vintage and a little over 10% from reserve wines from previous vintages. Secondary fermentation in the bottle using the Champenoise Method is followed by a long period of ageing: 3 years in the Maison's historic chalk cellars that extend underground at the Avenue de Champagne in Epernay.
This is how Perrier Jouët's Grand Brut was born, an elegant and delicate Champagne, fresh and lively, full of fabulous fruity and floral aromas of lemon, bergamot, lime and honeysuckle, with light notes of butter and vanilla. A bubbly to be enjoyed chilled on special occasions, a true work of art, a tribute to elegance and finesse. A Magnum of Champagne perfect for great occasions!
