Cavalchina's Bardolino Chiaretto is an elegant and fine rosé, fresh and savoury, that well interprets the style of Lake Garda rosés. It is made from the native red grape varieties historically found on the Veronese shore: Corvina, Molinara and Rondinella. The vineyards are located in the beautiful area of Bardolino, on the gentle slopes of moraine hills of glacial origin, with soils rich in pebbles and gravel. The sunny, mild, almost Mediterranean climate, thanks to the influence of the wide Garda basin, has always been very suitable for vines. In this area, rosés have a centuries-old tradition and represent true excellence on a national level.
Rosé Bardolino Chiaretto is produced by one of the most important and highly rated wineries in the Garda area. Cavalchina is a historic name in the area and today runs an estate of about 50 hectares, divided into various appellations, ranging from Custoza to Bardolino, from Lugana to Valpolicella. In the best tradition of great rosés, Chiaretto is a wine born in the vineyard. The Corvina, Molinara and Rondinella grapes are sold a couple of weeks in advance so that freshness is preserved intact and the sugar content is not too high. The clusters undergo a short pre-fermentation maceration at a temperature of 8-10 °C before being gently pressed with skin contact in the press. The free-run juice is vinified in white, temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Before bottling, the wine rests for several months in steel tanks.
Bardolino Chiaretto Cavalchina wine is one of the most interesting interpretations of this excellence from the Lake Garda area. It is a rosé all about finesse and freshness, which goes very well with shellfish appetizers, tomato pasta dishes and seafood guazzetti. Try it with a margherita pizza. To the eye, it has a delicate light pink colour, reminiscent of Provençal rose petal notes. The nose is subtle and refined, with elegant floral aromas, fragrant, citrusy hints, aromas of grapefruit, pomegranate, raspberry, redcurrant, wild strawberries, morello cherry and nuances of herbs. The sip is clear and flowing, savoury and harmonious, with delicate fruit and a very fresh finish.
