ETNA BIANCO TENUTA DELLE TERRE NERE 2022 DESCRIPTION

Tenuta delle Terre Nere's Etna Bianco is a fresh, mineral wine from vines grown at high altitudes on the volcano's northern slope. The wine is the result of a balanced blend of native Sicilian white grapes. A high percentage of Carricante is joined by a balance composed of Catarratto, Grecanico and Minnella, an ancient variety found in the old vineyards and now almost completely abandoned. This is a white wine vinified exclusively in steel, which returns the floral and fruity aromas of the grapes to the glass, combined with a crisp, flavorful and mineral vein, typical of Etna's terroir.

Etna Bianco wine is produced in the famous area of Randazzo and Solicchiata on the slopes of Mongibello. It is here that the Terre Nere Estate cultivates its vineyards, producing labels with a strong territorial imprint. The sunny but very cool climate, with significant temperature swings between day and night temperatures, favours the ripening of grapes with intense and refined aromatic profiles. The soils of the volcanic matrix, composed of sand and rock slides, very rich in minerals, are ideal for high quality viticulture. Thanks to these unique pedoclimatic conditions, which combine Mediterranean and mountain climates, elegant white wines with a unique character are born, pure expressions of the volcano.

Tenuta delle Terre Nere's Bianco dell'Etna comes from a selection of Carricante, Catarratto, Grecanico and Minnella grapes, which come from vines cultivated at altitudes between 600 and 900 meters above sea level. After soft pressing, the flower must ferment in stainless steel tanks. The wine matures for several months in steel tanks before being bottled for marketing. In the glass, it is light straw yellow in colour, with brilliant, luminous reflections. The bouquet expresses delicate aromas of white flowers, orange blossom, citrus aromas, fruity notes, hints of herbs and iodine nuances. The sip is tense and vertical, elegant and subtle, flowing into a savoury finish characterized by vibrant freshness.
