MONTEPULCIANO D'ABRUZZO BOSSANOVA 2022 DESCRIPTION

Bossanova's Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is a genuine and sincere red wine, the bearer of a production philosophy and a very suitable terroir like the Teramo hills. We are in Controguerra, in the province of Teramo, where the Bossanova winery makes wine exclusively from vines typical of the area, with absolute respect for the rhythms and needs of nature. The artisanal approach invests all stages of production: in the vineyard, the dictates of biodynamic agriculture are followed, while in the cellar, interventionism is minimal, aimed solely at indulging what the land bestows.

Bossanova Montepulciano DOC is produced from old vines, around 40 years old, of the variety of the same name. The grapes, rigorously worked in purity, are partly pressed whole with the feet, according to peasant tradition, and then added to the rest of the mass for a brief maceration. Fermentation is carried out using only indigenous yeasts, while ageing takes place for 8 months in vitrified cement vats and a further 4 months in the bottle to provide a pure and uncontaminated expression.

To the eye, the Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Bossanova is characterised by an intense ruby red colour that invites you to place the glass next to the nose to enjoy its ample aromas of sour cherries, red plums and eucalyptus, which are enriched by deep notes of black pepper and Mediterranean scrub. Impeccable and elegant on the palate, where softness, juicy freshness and solid tannin coexist in balance. The body and long persistence make this red a great accompaniment to traditional Abruzzi dishes, such as structured first and second courses based on red meats and game.
