Falkenstein Pinot Bianco is a mountain wine of great personality and expressiveness. It comes from vines cultivated on steep slopes in an area characterised by a harsh and difficult climate. It is an enveloping and elegant wine with a nice savoury note and fresh aromas of citrus fruits and field grass
Falkenstein Pinot Bianco is one of those South Tyrolean wines that shines and stands out for the personality it can offer. Very expressive and 'German' in style, it has an energy and snap to it. Here in the Vinschgau Valley, Pinot Bianco has found a perfect terroir to express itself at its best, and it was here that the Falkenstein winery started cultivating vines in 1999, in an area with a difficult and harsh climate, with vineyards on steep slopes.
Bernadette and Franz Pratzner dedicate passion and love to the vine, together with a respect for the land that is not for everyone. And it is this philosophy that leads to the birth of great wines, perfect expressions of their terroir. Like this pure Pinot Bianco, which immediately shows itself in all its minerality. Strictly manual harvesting, by choice and by necessity given the steep slopes, fermentation for 7-10 days in acacia wood casks and ageing for 9 months in the same casks used for fermentation.
Brilliant gold in colour, fruity notes with hints of citrus fruits, plums and a finish of Mediterranean herbs; an enveloping and savoury mouthfeel, mineral and of great elegance. A Pinot Blanc of great depth that will win you over with its sharp, vibrant energy.
