Bergmannhof's Pinot Bianco 'Gaider' originates from the high Koflerhof vineyard in the Eppan area. The spontaneous fermentation and fully completed malolactic fermentation, as well as 9 months on fine lees in oak, are responsible for the complex profile of this wine: hints of evolved fruit and hints of butter and vanilla emanate from the glass. On the palate it is full-bodied, velvety and with great intensity of flavour. Perfect with intense fatty fish dishes, such as a fillet of salmon
The South Tyrolean winery Bergmannhof presents the Pinot Bianco 'Gaider', a label that stands out for its elegance and richness of expression. The 'Gaider' is one of the estate's selections, wines that show the full quality potential of this family-run business based in the area of Eppan on the Wine Road. It is no coincidence that Pinot Bianco is one of the most important varieties in the region, which has always been appreciated for its ability to elegantly interpret the mineral essence of the terroir.
The Pinot Bianco Alto Adige Bergmannhof 'Gaider' is a 100% Pinot Bianco whose grapes come from the single vineyard of Koflerhof, located in Gaido, a hamlet in the municipality of Appiano. In particular, the vines stand on soils rich in gravel, clay and limestone, characterised by very stony sections, located at a high altitude of 800 metres above sea level. Harvesting is carried out by hand at the beginning of October, and the grapes are then vinified using the white wine method through soft pressing and subsequent spontaneous alcoholic fermentation of the must, with subsequent complete malolactic fermentation. Once the fermentation processes are complete, the wine is matured for 10 months in oak tonneaux on the fine lees, an essential step in contributing to the complexity and smoothness of this Pinot Bianco.
In the glass, the Bergmannhof 'Gaider' Alto Adige Pinot Bianco shows a beautiful golden yellow colour. The refined aromatic bouquet expresses seductive scents of pear, jammy lemon peel and dried jasmine flowers, enriched by iodised mineral hints and pleasant nuances of butter and sweet spices. Intense and structured on the palate, full and enveloping, with a velvety progression that is well supported by the taut fresh-sappy verve. On the finish, the sensations of flowers and white-fleshed fruit previously perceived on the nose return.
