Primitivo Doppio Passo is a red wine from Salento with a soft and round profile. The aging in steel allows the wine to express the varietal notes of the grape, leaving in the foreground the sensations of red fruit, seasoned with sensations of Mediterranean herbs and spices. The mouthfeel is agile, light and drinkable
Masseria Doppio Passo's Primitivo is a round, fruity and Mediterranean red wine, characteristics of the grape from which it is descended. The Doppio Passo winery, located within the municipality of San Pancrazio Salentino, in the far south of the province of Brindisi, was taken over by the Venetian Botter family in 2017, already owners of numerous vineyards scattered across some of the most prestigious wine-growing areas throughout Italy. The purchase of Masseria Doppio Passo was accompanied by a desire to strongly enhance the area and its traditional vineyards, first and foremost the Primitivo grape.
Doppio Passo Primitivo consists of only grapes of the black berry variety of the same name grown in the Mediterranean climate of Salento, caressed by the Adriatic and Ionian sea breezes. Once the bunches of grapes have reached full ripeness, they are harvested, carefully sorted and the classic red wine-making process is carried out. The fermentation process is carried out in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, a wine container in which the mass rests for a few months for the consequent period of maturation that precedes bottling.
The Primitivo from the Salento winery Doppio Passo has a luminous ruby red colour. The nose is played on notes of ripe red fruit, cherry and sweet spices, enriched by hints of Mediterranean herbs. Velicate, rich and soft on the palate, supported by great freshness. The finish insists on sweet sensations of ripe fruit. A typical expression of Salento Primitivo in which all the character of the vine and the terroir can be found. We recommend pairing this label with grilled meats such as lamb and pork. Also excellent with pasta with meat sauce or cured meats of a certain maturity.
