Gabriele Cordero's Roero Rosso is a structured and harmonious wine, characterized by notes of berries, strawberries and delicate toasted nuances reminiscent of tobacco and vanilla. On the palate it is soft, with fine tannins and a long persistence; it pairs perfectly with roasts or stewed game
Gabriele Cordero's Roero Rosso is a Piedmontese wine capable of combining structure and elegance to form a harmonious blend. Roero, called "Roé" in the Piedmontese dialect, is a territory in the province of Cuneo located just north of the Langhe area, separated from it by the Tanaro river. Here, in the municipality of Priocca, the Cordero family started their viticultural activity in 2016, focusing on traditional grape varieties, including Nebbiolo, a noble black grape variety that has made history in Piedmontese winemaking. Gabriele Cordero's Roero Rosso is made with only Nebbiolo grapes grown in the municipality of Priocca on sandy soils using sustainable viticulture. Harvest takes place when the grapes have reached the ideal degree of technological and phenolic ripeness, and the grapes are then transferred to the cellar for alcoholic fermentation. After the fermentation process, which takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature contact with the skins, the mass is subjected to racking and then transferred to second-passage French oak barriques for an 18-month aging phase. This is followed by bottling and final commercialization. In the glass, Gabriele Cordero's Roero Rosso has a transparent ruby red color with a garnet rim. The refined olfactory panorama is described by vivid aromas of wild strawberry, cherry, rose, and Chinese root, enriched by soft hints of tobacco and vanilla due to the long aging in barriques. The taste is structured and enveloping, animated by lively freshness, a tasty savory stamp, and a soft tannic texture that guides the long and persistent finish on mineral and spicy sensations.
