Piccini's Rosso 'Collezione Oro' is a red wine made from Italian and international grapes. Each grape variety ferments separately at a controlled temperature and partly in barrels. On the nose dark fruity hints such as blueberries, blackcurrants and plums meet spicy hints such as nutmeg and cocoa. On the palate it is warm and round, with a dense tannic texture that balances the extreme softness of the sip. A wine of great structure that finds its full expression alongside roast beef
The Rosso 'Collezione Oro' is a bottle with a lively and carefree character produced by the well-known Tuscan winery Piccini. Active since as far back as 1882, the Piccini winery is today led by the fourth and fifth generations of the family, represented respectively by Mario Piccini and his children Ginevra, Benedetta and Michelangelo, a family team that embraces an innovative production philosophy with an eye constantly turned towards the future, with the aim of cutting new heights and successes, perpetuating the worldwide success of the proprietary brands.
The 'Collezione Oro' Piccini Rosso is produced from a blend of Sangiovese (70%), Cabernet Sauvignon (25%) and Petit Verdot (5%) grapes. Following the harvest, each variety is vinified separately through alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks in contact with the skins. At the end of the fermentation process, the masses are transferred into wooden barrels of various types, with about a third of the wine being transferred into oak barriques, containers in which the ageing period of about 6 months preceding the final bottling takes place. The final release takes place no earlier than a further brief resting period of the wine in the bottle.
Piccini's 'Collezione Oro' Rosso has an intense ruby red colour. The aromatic bouquet is composed of vivid scents of dark fruits such as blueberry, blackcurrant and plum that meet balsamic nuances and spicy hints of vanilla and cinnamon. On the palate it is structured and rounded, with good freshness and persistence, and dense but not intrusive tannins that accompany the sensations of fruit and spices on the finish. This is a red wine with excellent versatility, ideal with roast meats, poultry and mature cheeses.
