Red 'Memoro' Piccini

Piccini's Rosso 'Memoro' is a skilful fusion of tradition and terroir. An intriguing blend of red grapes that on the nose releases hints of ripe cherries, but also dark fruits such as figs and hints of roasting like coffee. A generous structure is immediately evident on the palate, which nevertheless meets softness and roundness on the sip, leading to an intense and dense finish. Try it with a tagliata

RED 'MEMORO' PICCINI DESCRIPTION

The 'Memoro' Rosso from Piccini's extensive production is avery distinctive label with a modern dimension, born of the combination of grape varieties from different Italian regions. Indeed, the 'Memoro' line intends precisely to show the complementarity between the oenological traditions of different territories of the Peninsula, giving rise to wines that reflect more the oenological style of the Piccini than the character of the areas from which the grapes come. After all, the Piccini family can boast almost 150 years of history in the wine business, ever since the founder Angelo Piccini began making wine from just 7 hectares of vines. The tradition is carried on today by the fourth and fifth generations of the family, represented respectively by Mario Piccini and his children Ginevra, Benedetta and Michelangelo.

For Rosso Piccini 'Memoro', a blend of four different black grape varieties from as many different regions of Italy and from various harvests is used. Each variety is therefore vinified separately through alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks in contact with the skins, while the final blending is only carried out once the respective ageing processes have been completed.

In the glass, Piccini's Rosso 'Memoro' reveals an intense ruby red colour. The intriguing aromatic range opens on fruity notes of cherry, soon joined by hints of dried fig and hints of roasted coffee and fine woods. On the palate, it is warm, structured and complex, characterised by soft, mouth-watering tannins that accompany the harmonious, well-persistent finish. The producer's own suggestion is to pair Rosso 'Memoro' with structured, savoury foods such as red meat or game.
